World Master 6/8 Vintage Straight Razor NOS

Please note: With any Antique of such extreme rareness there is no returns.  Once the razor is honed or used it is no longer New Old Stock. As a small family run business we could not recover the cost. These type of Antiques are more for collectability and will gain value over time. But if you plan to shave with such a rare and irreplaceable piece of Art... Well all I can say is Good for you! Life is short, live it to the fullest.

Once upon a time, there were expert Craftsmen that believed in a sense of genuine mastery; driven to produce each and every straight razor as if it were the only living testament to their own skill, and present it as something that was not only an outstanding shaver, but a true working piece of art.

Long gone are the days when the Foreman would exclaim, "you are responsible for that razor you are making, don't cut corners, take your time!" Expertly stamped tangs, perfect grinds, and beautiful scales are now rare and hard to find in NEW condition. Presented here is the New Old Stock World Master Straight Razor by Otto Busch; German Craftsmanship at its absolute best, this incredible vintage razor is not only a true piece of historical art, but will instantly become the pinnacle of your shaving experience.

The 6/8 Extra Full Hollow Ground, Swedish Carbon Steel blade boasted by this magnificent straight razor is as good as it gets when it comes to quality, and will hold an edge that practically scares the hair off of your face. Imagine a shave where you can note the cut of every hair, where you can close your eyes and hear what almost sounds like butter on burnt toast. This is the sound that marks the epitome of a perfect shave; a tell-tale sound effortlessly achieved by the World Master.

Matched with gorgeous, extremely durable Celluloid Scales, featuring the words, "World Master Reg. Magnetstahl," you will immediately feel the perfect balance of the Old Craftsmanship, something that can not be copied today.

Made in approximately 1950-1955, this irreplaceable vintage straight razor looks like it was made only yesterday. Never shaved with, and complete in its original factory edge and finish, this is the type of razor that makes a grown man drool like a baby.

Comes with the original box, plastic sleeve, and tag, and includes the original Certificate of Warranty. Like any high-end collectible, we ask that you advise us on whether you would like the original factory edge, or made to be completely "Shave Ready"

If you entrust to us this special privilege, like all other straight razors leaving the Classic Edge, we will take great care to ensure this edge is perfect in every way. As always, a final polishing will be done after honing, to give this razor the remarkable shine it had the day it came out of the factory.

Like any other razor sold by The Classic Edge Shaving Store, this razor is professionally honed to "shave ready" by Phil. This $25 Value is our way of showing you that we are willing to take our Customer Service to the next level. After all, nothing is worse than buying a Straight Razor as a gift for a loved one, only for them to open the box and realize that they now have to send it away to be sharpened before they can use it. Also included is a free follow up honing that can be used once your razor is in need of a fresh edge.

Please allow a minimum of at least 2-3 business days for us to prepare your Straight Razor, as this is not a product that you buy just anywhere. It needs special attention to detail as it will come in contact with your skin, and must be sanitized and polished before being coated with Renaissance Wax. This careful and considerate attention to each razor is the difference between a shaving store that will rush your razor out the next morning, and our own Artisan-owned shaving store that is nothing less than extreme when it comes to making their clients 100% satisfied. It's our job to ensure that your experience is perfect. We cannot thank you enough for visiting our website, and we hope you have a great day.

Note: When you receive the razor for the first time, carefully take it out of the box and remove the oil with a piece of tissue. The razor has already been stropped and it completely "Shave Ready", so go ahead and shave! You will get 2 shaves before needing to strop (depending on how aggressive your beard growth is. Each time you have used your razor, rinse the blade with hot tap water. Carefully and thoroughly dry the blade and in between the scales with a piece of tissue paper before you close it. We recommend to oil your razor after every use. To maintain a sharp cutting edge, strop regularly prior to shaving.

I got this splendid blade after a verey disappointing and frustrating experience with a custom SR I purchased state side. The refund for that covered most of the cost of this one. The difference could not be more stark. The Otto Busch looks brand new. It is surprisingly light in the hand due to the grind. For me, this razor is finesse in looks and function. Effortless shave compared to my other SR's even though I like them as well.No comparison. If you have the funds and want an amazing shaving experience...treat yourself.

Customer review

I can echo what Brad described on this razor. I was considering a Heljestrand but Phil suggested the World Master as a better shaving razor, and I have been very pleased with that suggestion.
This straight razor blows away every other razor in my collection. It levels whiskers down to nothing effortlessly and it is simply a treat every straight shaver should consider.
