Dovo Barbarossa 5/8 Short Blade Ebony Straight Razor-Spanish Point

The DOVO Barbarossa 5/8" has been distinctly designed for the needs of barbers and bearded men. The highlighted feature of this razor is its short blade; allowing it to be particularly maneuverable, and resulting in optimal precision and control. Thus the user can shape and contour his beard with not only ease, but millimeter accuracy.

The fine engraving of the famous bearded Emperor Barbarossa has been added to the fully hollow-ground carbon steel blade, giving this razor a beautiful flair.

The Spanish point is an elaborately designed shape for razor points. Its unique shape comes from its concave form with a slightly rounded tip. This rounding also facilitates the shaving of complicated areas around the ears, nose, and dimples. Such a design offers you high precision without having to sacrifice security and control.

5/8 inch razors are true all-rounders and can do any wet shaving task with flying colours. The blade is relatively heavy and can therefore glide gently over your skin without great pressure. At the same time, it is still nimble enough to manage even more technically demanding passages around the nose, ears, and chin.

Like any other razor sold by The Classic Edge Shaving Store, this razor is professionally honed to "shave ready" by Phil. This $25 Value is our way of showing you that we are willing to take our Customer Service to the next level. After all, nothing is worse than buying a Straight Razor as a gift for a loved one, only for them to open the box and realize that they now have to send it away to be sharpened before they can use it. Also included is a free follow up honing that can be used once your razor is in need of a fresh edge.

Please allow a minimum of at least 2-3 business days for us to prepare your Straight Razor, as this is not a product that you buy just anywhere. It needs special attention to detail as it will come in contact with your skin, and must be sanitized and polished before being coated with Renaissance Wax. This careful and considerate attention to each razor is the difference between a shaving store that will rush your razor out the next morning, and our own Artisan-owned shaving store that is nothing less than extreme when it comes to making their clients 100% satisfied. It's our job to ensure that your experience is perfect. We cannot thank you enough for visiting our website, and we hope you have a great day.

Note: When you receive the razor for the first time, carefully take it out of the box and remove the oil with a piece of tissue. The razor has already been stropped and it completely "Shave Ready", so go ahead and shave! You will get 2 shaves before needing to strop (depending on how aggressive your beard growth is. Each time you have used your razor, rinse the blade with hot tap water. Carefully and thoroughly dry the blade and in between the scales with a piece of tissue paper before you close it. We recommend to oil your razor after every use. To maintain a sharp cutting edge, strop regularly prior to shaving.

Barbarossa 5/8 short blade

I purchased the barbarossa recently to have a razor to use while my flowing is sent back to be sharpened, and for the tough to reach areas such as under my nose. The barbarossa I received doesn't seem to be able to shave under my nose while using the first 1/2 of the badle. This seems very weird as I assumed with a 5/8 Spanish point it would carry out this job flawlessly. I should still be able to use it in my flowing shed temporarily. I wouldn't recommend it as a primary razor unfortunately. Specifically because it does not preform well for tight to reach areas. I had to go back to my round point for under my nose:(( it also did not come with a hard case like my flowing. Just a cardboard box with a canvas bag. I will be purchasing a leather pouch for both in the future for sure.

My go-to

I love this razor. The shortened length makes it better for me (I am a little guy) and I have zero issues making a straight beard and neck line. When it comes to a full shave, the rare time or two I find it shaved no problem.

It also makes shaving the chin/under the lip so easy.
