Note from Phil:  I never get tired of this razor, everytime I hone one for my client I cannot believe how perfect Boker makes these.  It sings on the stones and is so well balanced for a large Chopper.  If you have any doubts don't, it is truly a piece of Art.

The so-called "broadswords" refer to particularly powerful razors (Choppers), and not only inspire confirmed lovers of the classic wet shave, but also us, again and again. The mighty 7/8 inch blade of this exceptional razor also carries a Barber's Notch. Paua are crustaceans of the abalone genus, but unlike abalones, they are only found in the unspoiled nature of New Zealand's coastal waters. They have been used by the Maori as traditional body ornaments for many centuries, and are still used today as decorations for figures, weapons and meeting houses. These impressive handle scales are absolutely unique in colour and pattern. In addition to the extraordinary adhesion material, which is additionally provided with an ornamental rivet, the detailed blade laser engraving immediately catches the eye. The blade is ground extra hollow with ridge. A historical Boker etching, with which our razors were already decorated around 1900, served as a model. With an authentic Boker stamp in the blade passage, certificate of authenticity and historical packaging, each beautiful razor is handmade in the Boker knife manufactory Solingen.

Like any other razor sold by The Classic Edge Shaving Store, this razor is professionally honed to "shave ready" by Phil. This $25 Value is our way of showing you that we are willing to take our Customer Service to the next level. After all, nothing is worse than buying a Straight Razor as a gift for a loved one, only for them to open the box and realize that they now have to send it away to be sharpened before they can use it. Also included is a free follow up honing that can be used once your razor is in need of a fresh edge.  We only hone our own razors now, please keep that in mind. Our clients always come first, and we are the only store that backs up their clients with this service.

Please allow a minimum of at least 2-3 business days for us to prepare your Straight Razor, as this is not a product that you buy just anywhere. It needs special attention to detail as it will come in contact with your skin, and must be sanitized and polished before being coated with Renaissance Wax. This careful and considerate attention to each razor is the difference between a shaving store that will rush your razor out the next morning, and our own Artisan-owned shaving store that is nothing less than extreme when it comes to making their clients 100% satisfied. It's our job to ensure that your experience is perfect. We cannot thank you enough for visiting our website, and we hope you have a great day.

Note: When you receive the razor for the first time, carefully take it out of the box and remove the oil with a piece of tissue. The razor has already been stropped and it completely "Shave Ready", so go ahead and shave! You will get 2 shaves before needing to strop (depending on how aggressive your beard growth is. Each time you have used your razor, rinse the blade with hot tap water. Carefully and thoroughly dry the blade and in between the scales with a piece of tissue paper before you close it. We recommend to oil your razor after every use. To maintain a sharp cutting edge, strop regularly prior to shaving.

What a Shave

This is one razor if you want to get into some advance shaving skills, with its barber notch for fools pass this is the razor. The razor has some nice weight to it for traditional passes and the barbers notch for control on the fools pass. It’s an amazing razor and have had bbs shaves from two passes, and with the edge that Phil puts on this razor you can feel in control with more advance shaving skills; fools pass, flat blading and scything across the grain and against the grain. When I use the razor with classic strokes it still provides super smooth shave.
