3" English Bridle Chestnut Hanging Strop w/Leather Handle

Please note: Unlike other models of strops these strops do not need a break in period. They are ready to strop right out of the box.

For this handcrafted strop, we have made no compromises in the selection of materials and have chosen on the best products available today, while staying true to the traditions of yesterday.

The leather that we use for the stropping surface is American tanned top grade English Bridle. English Bridle being well established as the best choice for high end strops because of its ability to refresh a superb cutting edge while giving the best stropping
draw available.

The fabric side of this strop is made from 100% cotton and is made exclusively for us at The Classic Edge. This fabric is the same thickness as the leather, so with a thickness of 1/8“ it gives a firm, authentic and effective draw unlike some of the thinner and sometimes even synthetic materials found on other strops today.

The stitched and glued handles are made from Top Grade Italian Leather and are custom made for us by a local leather artisan who has specialized in high end leather goods for over 30 years.

We have all nicked a strop at some time, so these strops are designed to be
dismantled at home if necessary. This gives the owner the ability to replace any damaged component with a new one. Individual parts are available at The Classic Edge.

*Please note that even top-grade American leather hides sometimes may have
blemishes or "range marks" which occur during the animal's lifetime. At The Classic Edge, we believe that it would be irresponsible and wasteful of us to discard every piece of leather that had a small flaw, however we do take extra care to ensure that any blemishes are minimal in no way compromise the stropping process. Also note that unlike some other producers of strops, Ashcroft strops do not need any break in period and are ready to use right out of the box.
