Antique Straight Razor

Pre-WWII this razor was made by Lakeside Cutlery in the attempts to win the bid to make razors for the U.S Military, losing the contract to Genco a much lower priced razor at the time. They did however sell some yet not holding down the contract. This will be clear when you open a WWI and WWII Barber Kit issued to all Army Barbers which held only two different razors. A Genco Full Hollow Ground yellow transparent scaled razor, or a Black scaled Genco. We know this because we have these kits in our collection, not for sale sorry.  Now back to this beautiful higher end razor from Lakeside Cutlery. Carbon Steel Full Hollow Ground with a mirror finish, as you can see it had Pantina which we buffed out. By playing with the lighting you can see it clearly and remember to keep in mind that the razor looks 100% better in person. Under promise and over deliver!  The original scales from 1910 to 1915, when this specific model was made were originally Bakelite but did not stand the test of time due to storage conditions. So we replaced them with strong plastic red scales that are new.  This is one of the better U.S. razors and makes for an excellent everyday shaver that will last your lifetime no matter your age.
